Copyright & DMCA Policy
1. Our approach
We respect the rights of creators and expect our users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged infringement that meet the requirements of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and we close the accounts of repeat infringers. Most of what users make is private; this process matters most for films shared by link or shown on public profiles, but it covers anything stored on the service.
2. Our designated agent
Send notices of claimed infringement to our designated copyright agent:
[DESIGNATED AGENT NAME OR TITLE, e.g. Copyright Agent][COMPANY LEGAL NAME, e.g. Example Studios LLC]
[AGENT MAILING ADDRESS]
Phone: [AGENT PHONE NUMBER]
Email: dmca@aimooviestudios.com
U.S. Copyright Office registration: [COPYRIGHT OFFICE DESIGNATION NUMBER, e.g. DMCA-1234567].
This address is only for copyright notices. Other messages sent here will not get a reply; use support@aimooviestudios.com instead.
3. What a notice must include
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is enough for email).
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed, or a representative list if there are several.
- Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it: the share link (
/watch/…) or profile address (/@handle), and where in the film it appears. - Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages. Please consider fair use before sending a notice.
4. What we do with a notice
When we receive a complete notice, we act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material, for example by disabling the share link or removing the film from the public profile. We tell the user who posted it and send them a copy of the notice (with your contact details, as the counter-notice process needs them). An incomplete notice may get a request for the missing details.
5. Counter-notices
If you believe material of yours was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our agent that includes:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
We will send the counter-notice to the person who complained. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action to stop the infringement, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice.
6. Repeat infringers
We track valid notices against each account. In appropriate circumstances, we will close the account of a user who is the subject of repeated valid notices (generally three within a 12-month period, or fewer for flagrant infringement), and we may close an account after a single notice where the infringement is clear and deliberate. Notices that are withdrawn or successfully countered do not count.
7. Other rights
For trademark concerns or the unauthorized use of your likeness or voice, which the DMCA does not cover, write to legal@aimooviestudios.com. See also the Acceptable Use Policy.
